ARIEL

You can recieve Digital TV through your arial by using a set top box or Integrated Digital TV (iDTV). You can use a service such as Freeview but you will still need to adapt your existing TV or buy an Integrated Digital TV. Here are the 3 simple steps to going this route.

Step One: Check Coverage
Freeview is broadcast by the same means as "normal" television. You recive it through your aerial. In some areas the transmitters do not broadcast digital TV. Although most people can recive Freeview we recommend you check your areas postcode. Check Freeview coverage.

Step Two: Buy a Set Top Box or Integrated Digital TV
The next step is choosing and buying a set top box. These range from around £60 to about £200. Many high street stores and supermarkets now sell these boxes. Buying a box on the internet can often net you a good deal. Have a search for cheap freeview boxes on the internet you may find a bargain.

Step Three: Connect and Setup Your Box
Following the instructions supplied you now need to setup you new box. This usualy involves connecting your exsisting aerial to the box, and connecting the box to your TV and video with a scart lead. Your box should come with instructions and diagrams including a quick set-up guide. The next step is to scan for channels. During the scan the box will automatically find and store all available Digital TV channels. This can take up to 30 minutes.
